Want to be seen at night? This Portland startup has a bright and cool device for you

The latest consumer product from the team behind the popular headphones brand Sol Republic hits the market Aug. 15.

The brand is called LumaGlo and its first product, Crossbelt, is a wearable LED belt aimed at walkers, runners, cyclists and anyone else who wants to be seen when the sun goes down. Crossbelt will sell for $49.95 online, on Amazon, and at two major retailers. The product has been in development since 2012 when its founders started working on an LED accent lighting product. That led to a fun belt and, eventually, a serious business idea
